With an unforgettable first name, Griffin Anthony’s soulful-Americana lilt echoes other single-named greats: Marvin, Stevie, Jackson, James. Hailed by critics as “hypnotic and contagious,” and fellow musicians as a “musical string bean,” Griff’s warmth and compassion are as bottomless as his coffee cup.

The 29-year-old New York native got his start in 1995 with “The Ripptides,” whose members included children of legendary musicians, Arlen Roth and Alan Menken. As a teen, he worked backstage at both the Newport Jazz and Folk Festivals before emerging as a celebrated touring and recording artist.

Touted as the #1 independent artist in the state of Florida on both the MySpace and ReverbNation charts, Griff’s tens of thousands of followers connect daily via Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Pandora and Spotify. 2008 marked a new level for Griff’s professional career when he simultaneously signed with BMI and Orange Music Publishing.

Regularly featured on national radio, Griff has performed on the CBS morning show. In addition, Griff has appeared at a slew of bustling outdoor festivals including; Wanee, SunFest, Miami Music Festival and Carnaval on the Mile. His works have been spotlighted by the likes of ABC, NBC, MTV, VH1, E!, TBS, TNT and Oxygen, among many others.

In January 2010, with the engineering skills of Grammy-winning Charles Dye (Bon Jovi, Ricky Martin, The Allman Brothers) and Grammy-nominated Dan Geary, Griff released his full-length album, Crazy Ways. Debuting to enthusiastic praise and reviews, the motley of ten personal yet accessible tunes carried Griff into American households with placements on hit television shows and independent films.

Later in 2010, Griff was voted “Best Vocalist” at the International Music Festival and his song “Pieces” was featured on NBC and the Tennis Channel. The year 2011 saw over 200 tour dates, inclusion in jukeboxes across the country, increased activity in television placements, as well as song rotation in national retailers Home Depot, OfficeMax and Publix Supermarkets.

Griffin’s Live @ 305 EP was recorded on location at Kitchen 305 in Miami - the project helped place him on the 2011 Grammy ballot for “Best Pop Vocal Performance,” marking his second consecutive acknowledgement by the committee. The EP was even highlighted on iTunes’ “new independent releases,” opening fresh channels of exposure.

In 2012, Griff released The Canyon - an EP recorded at Grammy-winning George Noriega’s (Carlos Santana, Draco, Ricky Martin) Cutting Cane studio in Miami as part of a private licensing project. The Canyon features 4 distinct new songs that walk the Americana/Pop line, elevating Griffin’s catalog to a higher level of songwriting while simultaneously demonstrating sophistication and simplicity.

Most recently, Griffin wrote Nobody Loves Like You as a single for an SPCA documentary film. Co-produced by Griffin and Wayne Warnecke (Train, Grace Potter & the Nocturnals) and mastered by multi-Grammy winner, Mike Fuller, the single was among the 3 finalists in the “Best Original Music” category at this year’s New York Festivals: Best of Television & Film awards.
